I Like I Like Poems

  • Poetry Pot

I like I Like poems, yes I do!

They’re easy to do and fun to write. In fact, I like many things, so I write many I Like Poems.

(Sometimes, I like them so much, I write I LOVE poems! Check out the picture below!)

Write-Darndest

  • Choose something you like.
  • Write : I like ________
  • Think of 4 different kinds – adjectives are best!
  • Think of 4 places where it could be – use prepositions.
  • What can it be doing? Think of 4 things.
  • End your poem with the first line:  I like ________!

Darn

Notes:

  • How did I start each line?
  • How did I end it?
  • Sometimes, each line had only two words. Did you notice that? Sometimes, a line had 4 words.
  • Poems are not written like paragraphs or “normal” sentences (ending with periods).  they don’t ramble on throughout the line. They stop often, even without a period.
