Taking a Bite Out of Nature

  • Poetry Pot

IMG_5157A visit to the Haliburton Organic Farm has transformed me into Wordsworth.  (Who is he? A great poet, of course.)

You can be a great poet, too….

Oops, you already are, just undiscovered……

Read my poem:

Red bursts of reeds

Sprinkles of sunshine

A wash of green
Crunching marchinIMG_5197g ants

Clucking IMG_5167hungry hens

Nutritious sunflower seeds

Lip-smacking edible flowers

Fragrant pretty flowers

Pungent crispy cropsIMG_5206

Smelly dog’s breath

Thrilled with the adventure

Awed by nature

Tickled to be here

Here’s how you can write a poem that will have flowers twirling out of your pen …

Write-Darndest

  1.  Write three things you saw.
  2. Write three things you heard.
  3. Write three things you tasted.
  4. Write three things you smelled.
  5. Write three things you felt.
  6. Add adjectives to your lines.
  7. Voila! You’re a Wordsworth!
