Measuring with a Ruler

  • Math
  • Write Your Darndest

Now that we’re experts at measuring with our bodies, let’s measure like a pro.

We’ll measure with a RULER!

Go search your house for a ruler.

Search at your desk. None?

Search at your parents’ desks. None yet?

Bug your sibling and ransack their desk until you find one.  Umm… don’t do that. Just kidding.

If you don’t have a ruler, you can make one!

Here we go!

  1. How long is your ruler? A give-away.  ______ cm
  2. How long is your pencil?  ______ cm
  3. How long is your eraser?  _____ cm
  4. How long is your notebook?  ______ cm
  5. How long is your shoe?  ______ cm
  6. How long is your computer or iPad?  ______ cm
  7. How tall is your lamp?  ______ cm
  8. How long is a letter  envelope? ______ cm
  9. How high is your mug?  ______ cm
  10. How wide is your hand?  ______ cm

Well done.  Now, you are measuring like a pro.  High five!
